Is This Comedy Monologue A Rape Confession? Eric thinks he’s the cool guy of this story. Second City did the right thing and called the cops.

More alarming, some members of the audience kept laughing (although it was pointed out that the women weren’t) as he talked about ignoring a woman’s multiple requests to leave and treating her like she was inhuman and valueless. This was not the first time Eric told this story. This was not the first time people laughed and reaffirmed that sexual assault is funny and therefore acceptable. This is rape culture and it’s attitudes like these that put our daughters, mothers, sisters and friends most at risk.
