World Water Day- March 22, 2011

It’s  World Water Day- a day that we unfortunately need to recognize because way too many people around the globe (including in our very own country) don’t have access to clean drinking water.

Why is it that we can have an abundance of water while others go thirsty?

This is wrong.

Really wrong.

Think about how much water you’ve used already today…toilet, coffee, brush teeth, eat food, wash hands, do laundry.

One can debate whether water is a privilege or a right- but regardless, we’re lucky.

Here are some interesting posts in honour of today.

Another great great organization. Dare I ask that you consider trying a 40 day water challenge? Matt and I did and it changed our lives forever.

Or maybe you’d like to make a donation?

100th Anniversary of International Women’s Day!

What a beautiful day to celebrate women around the globe. Today let’s celebrate women as life-givers, CEOS, healers, police women, lawyers, mothers, teachers, fitness instructors, writers, engineers, community builders and all and every woman in between.

Today marks the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day. And while we celebrate the beauty and value of women we also remember that women have not yet reached equality, especially on a global scale. We recommit ourselves to working to better the lives of women and for joining our voices with those voices who are often overpowered.

Here are some great reads around the web to help us celebrate (and remember) the importance of women around the globe.
